Twin Cities Con's Story

Twin Cities Con is a pop culture, media, and comic book convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota. TCC was created by Ben Penrod, founder of comic cons in over ten cities, including Awesome Con in Washington, DC. Ben has been producing fan events for over ten years, and knew that the Twin Cities area would be the perfect location for a new comic con. TCC is produced by Ben's company Nerd Street, which also organizes Des Moines Con,Central Florida Comic Con, Annapolis Comic-Con, Southern Maryland Comic-Con, Sugoi Expo, and co-promotes the Alaska ComiCon.

‘LORD OF THE RINGS’ REUNION AT TWIN CITIES CON: Elijah Wood & Sean Astin Announced

MINNEAPOLIS (October 6, 2022) –  Frodo and Sam will be reunited as Twin Cities Con announces that Elijah Wood and Sean Astin have been added to its celebrity roster. The three-day celebration of TV, film, comics, cosplay all things nerdy returns to the Minneapolis Convention Center (1301 2nd Ave. S) Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022. Wood and Astin will be appearing on November 12 & 13. 

Elijah Wood is best known for portraying Frodo Baggins in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” Among Wood’s many other credits include voicing Mumble in the “Happy Feet” films, playing Ryan in the FX television comedy “Wildfred,” and voicing Beck in the Disney XC animated series “TRON: Uprising.” 

 

Sean Astin’s credits include his film debut portraying Mickey in Steven Spielberg’s “The Goonies,” playing the title role in “Rudy,” and for his role as the beloved Sam Gamgee in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy (“Fellowship of the Ring,” “The Two Towers,” and “The Return of the King.”) Astin’s credits also include portraying Raphael in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and Bob Newby in the second season of Netflix’s “Stranger Things.”

The Twin Cities Con Weekend VIP includes three-day admission, early entry, priority lines, a t-shirt, and an art print.

Admission for children under 13 is only $5 for the entire weekend.

MINNEAPOLIS (April 15, 2022) – Now is the time to snag your ticket for Twin Cities Con, a celebration of TV, film, comics, cosplay, and all things nerdy. If you're a fan of Batman, Marvel, Star Wars, LEGO, Disney, Star Trek, The Walking Dead, Power Rangers, etc., you'll probably fit right in at TCC. The three-day event returns to the Minneapolis Convention Center (1301 2nd Ave. So.) for its second year, Friday, Nov. 11 through Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022.
